Iris 2 is an original oil painting on a 40" x 30" canvas with a 1" cradle (depth). It is the companion piece to Iris 1.
I have a special love for the flag iris. It's beauty is a special and delicate yet the plants are amazingly hardy. While landscaping the area around my mountain house in the Highlands/Cashiers area I dug up multitudes of iris, daylilies and daffodils from the old home site on my property. I then carried the plants in five gallon buckets up the quarter mile of hiking trail to the new house to transplant them on the banks above and below the long drive up to the house. They all survived and multiplied both in their new location and in the old home site.
